Here is a small sample of common conditions which respond well to homeopathy. Each one is listed with a range of possible homeopathic remedies. As homeopathy treats the patient rather than the condition, book a consultation so that you can be properly assessed for the best results. Acne:...usually,
but not necessarily limited to puberty, acne can range from mild to
severe. In severe cases pustulation can occur. Homeopathic treatments
can be very successful in treating acne, however, the services of a
skilled practitioner are required.
Natrum
Mur and Sanguinaria are also useful remedies. Flower remedies: Billy Goat Plum, Purifying Essence, Five Corners, Spinifex (from the Australian Bush Flower range) Asthma:...bronchial asthma can be very successfully treated homeopathically but self-help is not generally recommended. back to topBedwetting...may simply be the result of a delay in the maturity of the part of the brain that controls urination, so try not to make too much fuss about it. It can be considered a problem if the child is over the age of six. If you are worried, check with your GP to make sure there is no problem with your child's genito-urinary system, such as cystitis, kidney infection or thrush; then you could seek homeopathic help. There may be many reasons a child bedwets: stressful times like moving house, the birth of a sibling, problems at school, quarreling parents, anxiety or grief. When there is no apparent cause, constitutional treatment may be necessary. Some
remedies to consider for bedwetting: Cystitis:...an
infection of the bladder, but the term is often used indiscriminately
to cover a range of infections and irritations in the lower urinary
system. Some
common sense measures to ease discomfort in the initial stages of
cystitis symptoms: It is important to drink at least 1.5lt water daily; during urination the bladder should be emptied completely; warm clothes on the lower part of the body may help prevent cystitis; it may be helpful to drink cranberry juice every day or take capsules. Urination
immediately after sexual intercourse will flush out most bacteria from
the urethra; try to urinate at least once every three hours: women who
avoid urination for long periods suffer from more infections of the
urinary system. Some
remedies helpful in the initial stages of cystitis: Flower
Remedies: Eczema:...is
a skin disorder characterised by itching and redness. Eczema usually
appears in the crooks of the elbows, behind the knees and the groin,
but can spread and in severe cases be accompanied by cracks, bleeding
and weeping from a thin watery discharge to a thick honey-coloured liquid. Some common-sense measures: 1. Avoid dairy products and limit the intake of foods the child seems sensitive or allergic to until you consult a homeopath 2. Avoid synthetic fabrics or wool close to the skin 3. Use non-biological washing powder, avoid harsh soaps or gels containing sodium laureth sulphates 4. Avoid creams and lotions containing parabens (ethyl-, methyl- or butyl paraben) or steroids Hayfever (seasonal allergic rhinitis):...an allergic reaction to airborne substances such as pollen that get into the nose, sinus, throat - and also the eyes. The name hayfever is misleading because symptoms don't just occur in autumn when hay is gathered and never include fever. Symptoms are similar to those of a heavy cold including runny nose, sneezing and watery, itchy eyes. If hayfever is constitutionally treated during the winter months, it will lessen in severity each spring and eventually resolve altegether. The services of a homeopath are highly recommended. Some self-help measures: 1. Euphrasia (Eyebright) tincture, diluted 10 drops in a cupful of cooled, boiled water to bathe or mist sore, inflamed eyes alongside the indicated homeopathic remedy 2. Avoid anti-histamines and decongestants as these suppress the symptoms which may return with a vengeance once the medication wears off. 3. There are some good, over the counter, homeopathic combinations to help with hayfever symptoms during the season, such as Nelsons' "Pollena", Ainsworths' "Mixed Pollens" and New Era's "Combination H". Some
homeopathic remedies to consider: Flower
remedies: Impetigo:...an infectious skin disorder common in children, can be very contagious. The eruptions can occur anywhere on the body, usually on the face and legs, especially around the lips and can resemble cold sores. It can be treated very successfully with homeopathy and antibiotics are rarely necessary. Some
homeopathic remedies for impetigo: Some flower remedies: Spinifex and Tall Yellow Top (Australian Bush) IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome):...an inflammatory condition of the bowels usually characterised by abdominal pain or discomfort; these can be associated with a change in bowel pattern, such as loose or more frequent bowel movements, diarrhoea, and/or constipation. Pathogenic factors such as candida infections or colitis can be involved. Self-help success is limited and the services of a skilled homeopath are recommended. Some
homeopathic remedies to consider: Flower Remedies: Bottlebrush, Crowea, Paw Paw (from the Australian Bush Flower range) Slippery Elm (available from good health food stores) can help coat the digestive tract and reduce discomfort. Molluscum (molluscum contagiosum):...is
a viral infection of the skin. It appears as clusters of small, pink
pearl-shaped spots, often filled with fluid. |
